Monadnock Inn

The Monadnock Inn, is a charming older Inn that is clean and welcoming. It’s a perfect spot for the area, and doesn’t try to be pretentious. The new owners are warm and friendly. For the price and location, it is the perfect spot to experience an old character place.

The Monadnock Inn is transforming. Since purchasing the property in 2024 from an outside investor, the new owners are putting a lot of work into Jaffrey’s only remaining hotel. This 1830s former homestead, however, still feels quaint and cozy. The house/inn really shows its age, which gives it that charm. With some TLC this family owned/run business will continue to thrive, but you have to stay there to help that dream come true and watch it grow year after year. I was fortunate to stay with my girlfriend in the Sally Room which featured a grand four poster bed equipped with a step ladder fit for a princess and her prince. This room has 4 windows allowing for great natural light and a gentle cross breeze when not engulfed in a Nor’easter. The room does not have a TV, but this allowed me and my significant other a chance to reconnect and relax when not running around for a wedding. Other rooms do have TVs. We stayed for 2 nights for my cousins wedding the weekend of Columbus/Indigenous People’s Day, with the entire inn full of the wedding party. Should you be hosting a wedding in the area, I would suggest this as your party’s housing. While they do not have a full kitchen and staff to feed their occupants, as of yet (in the works) they were very amenable to the wedding party hosting a breakfast in their dining area even bringing out a toaster and microwave and a mini fridge to house cold items. The hospitality the Clerkin family gave to my family and friends is something that has gone away in many big corporate environments. We felt like family. They opened their doors and were gracious. This is our second time staying at the inn. First time was in 2022, second was last night. The inn is under new ownership and has made some improvements since our last visit. They also have the amazing addition of a wonderful massage chair, that was a great surprise! The owners cats were around the property and super adorable and friendly. Rochelle, the housekeeper was wonderful as well. We will be back for sure. I am hoping the pub will open again soon! The only suggestion I could make is better overflow parking out back, with better lighting.

I was in Peterborogj fo a wedding and this hotel was absolutely perfect. Great family who runs it with lots of charm, character and helpful things like full coffee bar, lots of tables and comfy chairs to lounge/read/work. Great room and well priced. Will definitely come back!

We stayed at the Monadnock Inn as party of a bridal party and our experience was fantastic. The rooms are unique and beautiful and the staff very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend this spot.

Loved my stay at Monadnock Inn. It has a lot of old home charm, so dont expect the stairs not to squeak when you walk up! The Tracy room was perfectly spacious and very clean and cozy. It had its own attached bathroom that was also spacious, with a claw foot tub. Each room also has its own air unit so I was able to stay perfectly comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating and gave great reccomendations! The inn also has a massage chair which was the perfect ending to each evening. Highly reccomend the Mondanock Inn for anyone visiting the area!
